Missy Anderson

Program Specialist 3 Veteran & Military Student Services

Missy Anderson comes to us from Seattle University’s Institute of Public Service where she served as the Administrative Assistant for three graduate and two undergraduate programs. Prior to moving to Seattle in 2010, Missy worked for Sacramento City College for nearly a decade, first as the Veterans Certifying Official and then as the Student Personnel Assistant in Athletics. Eager to work with veterans again, Missy accepted the position of Program Coordinator – Veterans Affairs at Shoreline Community College in January, 2014. Her goals are to provide a safe, welcoming environment for veterans and their families, and expand the existing support services that ensure student success in and out of the classroom. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Missy enjoys spending time with family and friends, trips to the ocean, playing golf, working in her yard and volunteering with the Seattle Women’s Chorus.

Rosemary Whiteside

Military Advisor

Rosemary serves as the Academic Advisor for military-connected students at Shoreline. Rosemary has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is married to a US Navy veteran (retired) and currently has one daughter serving in the US Navy and one daughter in college. When she’s not at work, Rosemary enjoys hiking, camping, photography, reading, and listening to live music. Rosemary is a Got Your 6 Ally and looks forward to helping you take your next steps at Shoreline!

Morgan Davis

VetCorps Navigator

U.S Army Veteran and VetCorps Navigator for Shoreline Community College. 30 years in service to others as a mentor coordinator, public relations specialist, special needs children advocate, adult literacy instructor, remedial English instructor, school nurse, midwife, labor and delivery nurse, Red Cross donor recruiter, NMFA (adoption) volunteer overseas, and so much more. Completed the Special Needs Education program as well as the Early Childhood Education program at Shoreline Community College. Her career reflects her passion - a genuine interest in helping others. As a Veteran, she understands transitioning from military service into college and into civilian life. She is passionate about helping fellow military veterans as their advocate for service and resources.

Derek Levy

Dean of Student Support & Success

As the Dean of Student Support & Success, Derek is responsible for strategic direction and daily operations for Student Support Programs, including Veterans Programs, Student Accessibility Services (SAS), Assessment and Testing Center, Tutoring Services, and the Community Employment Program (CEP). Derek earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of California at Santa Cruz and Master of Arts in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University. A son of a Korean War veteran, Derek is passionate about supporting military connected students and has had the opportunity to open Veteran Centers at two previous schools. Derek and his wife have three boys and numerous pets. He is also active each spring and summer as a Little League umpire.
