Prepare for a major in Speech and Hearing Sciences by taking recommended courses to
fulfill the requirements of a transfer degree.
Speech and Hearing Sciences prepares students to work with patients who have speech,
language or hearing disorders. Typically, speech pathologists treat clients with speech
and language problems, while audiologists assess, diagnose and treat hearing loss
and balance disorders. In both professions, early detection and prevention screening
are important for the treatment and remediation of communication disorders.
The Associate in Arts - Direct Transfer Agreement (AA-DTA) is part of Shoreline’s General Transfer program and is designed to meet the first two years of requirements of most four-year degrees.
